Pioneer SX-626 recap job

I'm recapping the 626 I mentioned in a earlier post, the caps I'm using are Nichicon PW caps for the power supply and general purpose caps and Nichicon KL for the solid aluminum low noise caps, and any thing under 1uF gets Panasonic ECQ film caps. I'm also replacing two transistors that are known for becoming leaky and noisy with age.

More photos of the receiver! This one is very unusual as it has champagne colored letters! Very rare, I've never seen another 626 like it. It's almost mint, the wood case is about as clean as you can get, and the faceplate only has a few small marks on it.

Pioneer SX-1000TW

Here is the 1000TW I got as part of the lot with the HPM's, I cannot believe how nice this thing is, photos can't do it justice, but I'll try.

Biggest score to date...

I just got a set of Pioneer HPM-100's, the 200 watt versions, a SX-1000TW, a QL-600 and QT-2100 8 track tape player, a Nikko NA-890 amp and NT-890 tuner and a Sansui R-5, all for $150! The Nikko stuff is a little rough, the treble pot on the amp has the shaft broken off and the tuner is missing the power switch cover, but both power up and work, also the R-5 is missing the volume knob, but all the Pioneer stuff is in excellent to near mint condition. The two Nikkos and the Sansui were thrown in for free, so I took them. I'm doing a happy dance right now, the HPM's were my dream speakers and now I have my own!

Another Pioneer SX-1010 score!

Got another 1010, almost an exact copy of the one I first got, cut power cord and will not output audio, for $129! Yeah baby! Found that the hard wired fuse inside was blown, replaced that along with the power cord and a couple of shorted outputs, which had caused the fuse to blow. Powered it up, all the lights worked and except for some dirty pots and switches, worked great! Did a full restore to it, all new outputs, replaced most of the transistors on the amp boards and replaced all of them on the control amp, or tone amp. Also completely rebuilt the power supply and did a full recap. All I can say about it after listening to it for the first time after I finished it, it's 100 watts per channel of pure sonic and visual bliss.

Pioneer and Sony score!

Got all of these for $80, all are in excellent to near mint condition. Better pics will follow once I check them out.
